I am Nicola Borghesi, and I run Taxi Colle di Nicola Borghesi from Colle di Val d'Elsa in the province of Siena. No office, no fleet, no call centre: you message me, I answer, and I am the one standing at arrivals with your name.
Most of my work is groups. Four, six, eight people land at Florence, Pisa or Rome with a week booked in a villa somewhere behind Siena — and discover that an ordinary taxi means two cars, two prices and two arrival times. I take the whole group in one nine-seat Mercedes van, for one price agreed before anybody boards a plane.
Being based in Colle di Val d'Elsa is the practical part. Siena is half an hour away, San Gimignano twenty-five minutes, Florence airport a little over an hour. Drivers coming out from Florence add that journey twice to your bill and to your schedule. I am already here, so a 6 a.m. departure to Pisa or a midnight arrival is simply a normal working day — I drive 24/7.
I hold a regular NCC private-hire licence and full insurance, and I speak English and Italian. Fuel, motorway tolls and parking are inside the price I quote you. Child seats go in on request. You settle at the end by credit card, paypal, cash — there is nothing to pay online.
And once you are here, the same van and the same driver will take you out for the day: the Chianti and Brunello cellars, Val d'Orcia before the light gets hard, San Gimignano before the coaches. Plenty of groups book the return airport run before they have finished unpacking.
